Try these quick and easy facial treatments from some of the country's top estheticians.
"While a dermatologist is trained to treat skin problems, an esthetician is trained to get skin looking and feeling it's best.
Normal/Oily Skin
Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon yeast
1 Tablespoon baking soda
1 Teaspoon water
Mix ingredients together and apply (after cleansing) from forehead to collarbone. Allow mask to sit for 15 minutes (note: it will not dry or harden) as the yeast deep-cleans and tightens pores and the baking soda evens out blotchiness. Rinse with warm water and follow with an oil-free moisturizer.
Normal/Dry Skin
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons honey
1/2 cup plain yogurt (not low-fat)
1 tsp. grapefruit zest
1 cup iced black tea
Combine first three ingredients and apply mixture to your clean face and neck. Leave mask on for at least 15 minutes. The honey acts like a giant sponge, pulling out impurities and brightening the skin, while the yogurt moisturizes and softens. (The grapefruit scent is energizing.) Splash off with the tea, then massage in your usual day cream.
Sensitive/Irritated Skin
Ingredients:
1 Teaspoon chick pea flour (available in natural health food stores)
1 Teaspoon heavy cream
2 Teaspoon salt water
Pinch of salt
Mix and distribute this creamy concoction all over your clean face. Leave on for ten minutes to let the chick pea flour deep-clean stressed skin while the heavy cream balances its pH level (imbalance is what makes sensitive skin red). Rinse with cool water.
